www.t9.com/t9_learnhow.htmlQ. What does the name T9 Text Input stand for? A. "T9" stands for "Text on 9 keys". T9 comes with 1000s of words, including proper names. But if T9 doesn’t understand the word you’re trying to enter, you can add it to T9’s dictionary so that it will recognize the word the next time you enter it. Also T9 may be able to automatically complete the word you are entering, saving you even more key presses! You can add smileys, chat phrases, slang, URLs, screenames, passwords to the dictionary. Any term you can type, you can add to T9 to save yourself even more time! T9 also pays attention to the words you use and places these words earlier in your word selection list. For example, the most commonly used word matching the key sequence 2-6-6-5 is “book.” But if you more often use the word “cool” (which has the same key sequence), T9 will display “cool” first. T9 combines what it knows about language with what it learns about you.
